Seems though I have been posting a lot about AC Unity I thought I would do a Black Flag review. (Yes, I have played and completed the game)
So, Lets begin
In BF you play as Edward Kenway, Connor's (AC3) grandfather, A privateer turned pirate.
when the ship he is sailing on sinks he washes up on shore with an assassin called ........... and Edward kills him, searches finds a letter and a mysterious item so Edward take the assassins outfit, the letter, the item acquires a ship and sails to the destination on the letter and thus the story unfolds.
Black flag expands on the sailing and hunting aspect from from AC3 and gives the player a chance to upgrade Edwards ship, the Jackdaw, as well as his own Armour, tools and holsters/ammo pouches.
A new way to hunt has been added to this game and that is harpooning, you can harpoon a range of sea animals from Hammer head sharks to Great white whales. Great white whales can be found either by chance or by your friends sharing its location so the more friends you have playing the story then the more white whales you can hunt.
To upgrade your ship and harpoons you must hunt down and pillage and plunder any ships you can find and liberate resources such as metal, wood and cloth.
To upgrade your armor and weapon holdsters to need to hunt animals and skin them like in AC3 exept you dont have snares to catch the animals or bait to attract them you must hide in bushes or in trees and pounce on your prey, these animals range from rabbits to crocodiles.
Maps can be found giving hints to hidden treasures such as plans for elite ship parts that can give you a massive advantage over enemy ships and forts, and another way to find plans and hidden treasure is deep sea diving into ship wrecks.
When I did research about this game I was shocked when I searched some names of the pirates and they were all real and their deaths were all correct even Blackbeard died by the hand of the right person.
Overall this game is an outstanding make and play.
